What is Sabiá Tobacco?
Tabaco Sabiá, which is popularly known as Rope Tobacco too is, simply, a variation of the famed Nicotiana rustica. It’s become a very popular ingredient in natural medicine products, especially those used by shamans, curandeiros and Pajés (healers), as this tobacco variation makes for very powerful concoctions, mainly Rapé.
Sabiá is a type of Brazilian bird that gave its name to this variety.
According to shamanic culture, this plant can offer great healing powers for both the spirit and the physical body, and are therefore often used in sacred ceremonies and indigenous rituals of healing.
The formation of Sabiá Tobacco ropes and cylinders isn’t a natural process, as the plant itself can be found in nature as mostly any other sort of similar flora. There is a traditional and organic process that sees the harvesting, drying, and fermentation of tobacco leaves, which will later be compacted into vines and manually twisted into the popular cylinders. It is due to that very reason, this ingredient can also be called “rope tobacco”.
We sell this unprocessed tobacco in pieces and in powder form. Our powder is finely milled to approximately 100 mesh powder. Its air dried, powdered and sieved for best results.
