More about Tonka Shamanic Snuff

Tonka snuff, crafted from the exquisitely scented Cumaru (Dipteryx odorata) seeds, offers a sensory journey enriched with notes of vanilla and almond-like sweetness. Revered for its aromatic profile, Tonka beans have adorned tobacco snuffs, cigars, and haute cuisine desserts since the 1700s, adding a dreamy fragrance that transports individuals into the mysteries of the forest.

In Amazonian traditions, Cumaru is not only esteemed for its delightful aroma but also revered as a medicinal remedy for respiratory ailments and a potent talisman for luck and manifestation. Both the bark and seeds of the Cumaru tree are utilized for their medicinal properties, known for their ability to alleviate respiratory issues such as bronchitis and asthma due to their anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic properties. Additionally, Cumaru is believed to widen the airways, promoting easier breathing and overall respiratory health.

This unique Rapé blend, a creation of Sacred Connection, combines the enchanting fragrance of Tonka with the therapeutic benefits of Cumaru, offering a delightful and deeply satisfying experience.

Emburana and Tonka

Emburana, derived from the seeds of the Cumaru Tree, encompasses various Cumaru species found in Brazil, including Dipteryx odorata and the Amburana family, which comprises Amburana acreana, Amburana cearensis, and Amburana claudii. While Dipteryx seeds are long and black, Amburana seeds are smaller, round, and spotted. Despite their visual differences, both types of seeds share a similar scent profile attributed to the presence of Coumarin, offering a fusion of vanilla and almond-like aromas.

While some individuals may refer to Amburana seeds specifically as Emburana or Imburana, reserving the term ‘Tonka’ for Dipteryx seeds, both varieties are commonly recognized as Emburana, reflecting their shared aromatic and medicinal properties.”
